Next Door
Ever more I am informed
by the reality of another world. It used to be as far away
as the unreachable edge
of our universe, then our galaxy,
then a country on the opposite
side of the globe, then a Pacific city
in my homeland, a town in
my state, a neighborhood
in my town.
Now it’s the house
next door. When we leave windows
open I hear voices. Someday
I will move in.
